Below are the beginning posts of a series of working actors’ reasons why they are voting NO on the AFTRA Exhibit A proposed contract.
I along with 15 other Screen Actor Guild members have been doubly fortunate. First, we had the benefits of the S.A. G. contract and, second, to be cast as senior bankers in a recent series of heavily -run TV commercials for Washington Mutual Bank (”WA MU”).
Admittedly it is frustrating for actors to hear the leaders of both of their union leaders publicly arguing their sides. It’s particularly disheartening to those who don’t fully understand the background and history behind much of the statements.
Sadly, all you are hearing is the same disconnect between the union representatives that was formerly kept confidential in the negotiating rooms for years.
